The Duchess of Cambridge has placed herself in the centre of a rather large controversy and the people are royally P-ed off. She has… wait for it….worn the same Alexander McQueen twin-suit she sported for Prince George Christening in 2013 to The Queen’s Garden Party last weekend!
Despite a three year gap between wearings the internet is up in arms over the “thrifty” incident (The Mirror.UK). Hollywood Life suggested that the Duchess “refreshes her wardrobe” with a good’ ol fashioned “spring cleaning. Vanity Fair went as far to say it’s “more of a surprise to see her attending an event in an ensemble she hasn’t worn before than to see her in something new.”
OUTRAGEOUS! Thank goodness Kate had the decency to change-up her hair style!
*Yawn*. Poor Kate just can’t seem to catch a break.
Whilst we’re pretty sure Kate has someone employed to “spring clean for her”, we’re totally applauding the Duchess’ recycled look. (You’d want to get your money’s worth if you spent a reported $3,200 per outfit too!). Sure, we don’t all own a closet full of designer twin-suits, but what woman hasn’t faced this fashion dilemma? How often have you worn that dress you wore to your cousins wedding due to the unnecessary expense of buying another that you’ll only wear once? And you know what? It’s totally ok to do that.
In a day and age where everything is disposable it’s nice to see at least one stylish individual who’s blatantly not buying into fast fashion. Timeless style is about quality not quantity after all.
